U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOGNIZES SANFORD’S PRO-BUSINESS VOTING RECORD

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Mark Sanford received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award for his pro-business voting record in 2013.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to Members of Congress based on selected votes covering issues such as the budget, trade, health care, energy, transportation, and more. For this session of Congress, the Chamber identified thirteen “key votes” that reflected their pro-business priorities.

“2013 was challenging, but Congressman Sanford worked to pass legislation and enact policies that will keep our country moving forward economically,” U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue said. “The Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes legislators like Congressman Sanford who have demonstrated their commitment to supporting pro-growth policies in the 113th Congress.”

“I’m honored to receive this award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” Sanford said. “I’ve long agreed with the Chamber that the right soil conditions for private enterprise lead to the creation of jobs, an expansion of economic opportunity, and a healthier financial climate for our country. As such, I will continue to work with the Chamber and groups like this to support measures that get government out of the way and allow businesses to grow and thrive.”
