We’ve been working on finalizing spending bills here in DC before the end of July, and last night we debated funding for the Department of the Interior – which manages the offshore drilling process. Given the feedback I’ve received from folks in the Lowcountry and the lack of input they will have in the process moving forward, I offered an amendment that would stop further consideration of oil and gas leases off the coast of South Carolina.
