Sanford Accepting Applications for Summer Internships
WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Mark Sanford (R-SC) has announced he is accepting congressional internship applications for positions in his Washington, DC office for summer 2017.
The internship program offers undergraduate students practical experience in public policy and customer service.
Intern duties include answering phones, greeting constituents, leading tours, preparing correspondence, attending committee hearings, and composing short research projects. DC interns also enjoy fun activities such as a White House tour, the Fourth of July, and the Congressional Baseball Game among others.
All internships are unpaid, but students gain valuable work experience and professional skills throughout their internship while getting a better understanding of how their government functions.
Summer internship hours run 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Friday. Students may join from May 30th through June 30th or July 5th through July 31st. Interested South Carolina students should contact the internship coordinator, Cameron Morabito, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
